AgCulture Podcast explores the intersection of agriculture, innovation in farming, and leadership, emphasizing the role of artificial intelligence in agriculture.
Who Paul Is
Paul Windemuller is a first-generation dairy farmer and a recognized authority on the integration of artificial intelligence in agriculture. As a 2024 Nuffield International Farming Scholar and the 2025 National Milk Producers Federation Farmer Communicator of the Year, Paul has traveled to more than fifteen countries—including New Zealand, Ireland, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Sweden, Canada, Australia, Brazil, the Netherlands, and the UAE—exploring how emerging technologies are transforming animal agriculture, farm economics, and global food systems.
From the Barn to the Boardroom
From his own robotic dairy operation in Michigan to conversations with AI researchers, agritech founders, and policymakers worldwide, Paul bridges the practical and the visionary—connecting the cow barn to the boardroom, and technology to stewardship. His work focuses on understanding how innovation in farming, data, and emerging technologies can strengthen farms while preserving producer autonomy.
A Central Question Driving His Work
“How will livestock agriculture usher in the age of Artificial Intelligence?” This question sits at the center of Paul’s research, speaking, and advisory work.
Research, Frameworks & Global Impact
Paul’s Nuffield report, Leading the Herd: AI, Insight, and the Next Agricultural Revolution, introduced landmark frameworks such as the Holistic Insight Threshold and the AI Data Stewardship Cooperative concept—now helping shape global industry conversations around data ownership, farm intelligence, and responsible technology adoption.
Building a Farmer-Led Digital Future
Today, Paul is leading the development of a farmer-owned data cooperative designed to ensure producers retain control and capture value from the information their farms generate. Through this work, he challenges closed corporate data ecosystems and advocates for a more equitable, transparent, and farmer-led digital future in livestock agriculture.
AgCulture Podcast & Life Beyond the Farm
Paul is also the host of the AgCulture Podcast, featuring unique stories, ideas, and conversations from across the global agricultural landscape. Along with his wife, Brittany, and their six children, Paul loves to travel as a family—learning, exploring, and experiencing new ways of life and farming wherever they go.
